May 6, 2019 — Might not be a good idea to recap these two games while I’m still fuming inside, but journalism must continue.
Warriors threw these last two games away on Saturday and Monday night. Saturday was a bit more of a fight, the Warriors came out hot but ended the half down by nine points.
Rockets continued to lead the game until the fourth quarter when Thompson (16 points, eight rebounds) hit a 24-foot three-point-shot bringing the score to 107-108. I almost thought they were going to pull through with a W in OT, but Harden (41 points, nine rebounds) dominated and made shot after shot.
It’s gonna be a fight, every possession every game…we gotta be physically tough, mentally tough. We know who we playin’ out here.

Monday night the Rockets were the far more focused team. They were in sync, every shot was going in, their playmaking was phenomenal and Harden was granted a few step-back-three fouls. The Rockets defense was nearly impossible for the Warriors to beat. Steph Curry (30 points) wasn’t open until late in the third quarter, and KD fought hard for every point, as always. We could barely keep up with them on defense as well, the playmaking was on point.
The main disappointment of the night was from Klay Thompson. He had multiple open shots and missed so many from the field. He also tried to pass the ball forward which resulted in multiple turnovers 🙄
During the last play KD and Curry had an open shot to tie the game and they both missed. The Warriors were lucky to get close enough to tie the game the way they were playing; Multiple turnovers, missed open shots and not much playmaking.
The Dubs have this tendency to move down the court too quickly, take a weak open shot and turn the ball over when we are down during a game.
The Rockets created space and pulled the defense towards the key shooters to open up two points under the basket. Warriors were allowed about 15% of the foul calls they deserved but that’s my personal opinion. Hard to keep playing hard when you aren’t getting the calls (!!)
Wednesday night the Warriors come back to Oracle for Game five and I truly hope they watch the film from tonight and recognize their mistakes. Thompson needs to work on his shot and refer back to the games where THEY created a backdoor pass for two points. #GoWarriors but I’m also #SCARED.
